Who you Control

I had a really interesting conversation last night. I was talking to a friend who had a hard time with the fact that I had started talking to someone that I had never physically met. I know that on-line dating is big now says, and I can understand it, people are busy, careers get in the way of really having time to go out and meet someone. But I didn’t meet this guy on the Internet. His brother is a friend of mine and told me about him. We have been talking, both on the phone and on web cam. He is an amazing guy, really. Now the thing that my friend had a hard time with was that I was going down to meet him. He said that this guy now feels like he has control over me because I am going down there and he isn’t coming to me. I totally disagree. He was making all these judgments about this guy and he doesn’t even know him. I know that there are a lot of creeps out there and it can be really hard to trust someone that you have never physically met, but there are good people out there. I’m not being naive but I don’t know that you cant carry your past with you. You can learn from it and know what to look out for and be more cautious, but in the end you have to realize sometime that you have to open up a little. I told him that this guy will never have control over me. No one controls me but me and I cant control anyone else. People can have their opinions and be influenced and influence others but in the end the only person that we control is us. Knowing that I will always remember that. I can go down and meet him and he could turn out to be different than I thought and I will go home and go on with life. Its too short to waste on being sad about something that obviously wasn’t meant to be. It only means that something better is coming. I cant control how this guy thinks or what he wants but I can control myself, my thoughts, my actions, and I will be proud of them, and have no regrets.
I have no regrets from my past. I do wish that maybe things would have been different but if things were different then they would different now and right now I like things how they are.
So the point to all this is to realize that who i control is me, and to me that is ultimate control.
How to comfort the lonely you

This is weekend I was so alone! My family was away at a church thing I was all alone at home all day. I slept in made a good breakfast, it was nice but lonely. I have felt that way lately. I feel that I love doing things alone but I’m to the point that i want to do them with someone else. How can I comfort that when I with no one and there is no one to call. Usually you have a good friend that you can call and count on to be there for you but sometimes there really is no one. I had no one this time. I wanted so bad to just cuddle up with someone and watch a movie. That was all. But it couldn’t happen. I know that I can just have someone whenever I want. Sometimes you are just alone. I could use some tips on what to do next time this happens. Any ideas would be great!! Sometimes I know that its nice to have another opinion.
Any suggestions let me know please!!

Play at Love

This coming Monday on Confidence Matters we are going to be talking about Playing at Love.
The show was inspired by the saying “Women play at sex to get Love, men play at love to get Sex”. I know that it is a little blunt but I see it happen so often. There are so many women out there that think if they give the guy what he wants sexually then he will fall in love with her and fulfill her need to be loved and cared for. Men, on the other hand, they will make a woman feel that love and compassion to get her into bed with him. He will tell her what she wants hear. hold her hand, cuddle her, rub her neck, anything that is meaningful and sensual. How can you tell if he is true or not? And how can you tell if she is wanting more or not?
We all know that men and women are very different. Especially when it comes to love. We all have our needs. Being men and women our needs are different. A woman has a need to be softly touched and kissed, looked at deep in the eye, the feeling that she is all that matters in his world. For a guy he wants that companionship as well but when he is ready for it. In the meantime he has “other” needs that need to be met. Smart guys know the right thing to say the right thing to do to be with a woman. The only bad thing is that the woman takes it as he really does care about her and he wants to be with her. So she thinks that if she gives him what he wants then he will love her and give her what she needs. The only problem is, that is not what the guy is looking for.
